A Perfect Flower Stall

When I was a little girl I was as obsessed with flowers as I am these days.

I think I might have been around 8 years old when we lived in an old Queenslander at Wellington Point with a beautiful garden which my mother absolutely loved.  I would collaborate with my neighbour Angela who was about a year younger than I was.  We would pick flowers {mostly the daisies} out of mum's very large garden and we would set up a flower stall in front of my parent's house and sell the flowers on the roadside.

I would never let my children do that these days but back then it was different.  When I spotted these little stalls by Mouta over on Poppy Talk earlier this week memories of these fun times came flooding back.  I wish I had one of these back then.  I think if I did it might have improved sales!!

We sold lemons picked from a friends garden and spent the profits on lollies at Kratsmann's store. Ah happy days...

Anna,

It's so interesting... we had so much more freedom than the kids today. I was born in Brazil and I had the most interesting and fun childhood. I used to be on my grandparents farm very often, I used to run, play on the street until 7 pm with my friends... We were free and safe. It's was so much better than now. I live in a very safe, small town, but I'd never leave my kids playing outside by themselves. It's so different right now. It's a shame....

I love how cute this stand is. Just adorable!

Have a wonderful day!

Isn't it amazing how times have changed? It was so much simpler in the past and children COULD have lemonade and flower stands, without parents worrying about abduction, etc.

Well, I suppose they can still do those things, with parents nearby.

Loved the flower stand in our post. Susan

It's a pity that times have changed! I used to 'sell' oranges outside my grandparent's house with my cousin every summer. It was so fun!

you seem like THE sweetest person Anna. Adore your blog - thanks for sharing your gorgeous and inspiring style. One of the few design blogs that I feel isn't trying to promote or sell me something lately.
I, too, have had our dog inside with me these past few days - am down at our country house alone, and she's not normally allowed inside here BUT it's so dark and quiet - she's great company....although not on the bed.... -:))))) Have a lovely w/e.
